Audio trailer for 'Silambattam'

Lakshmi movie makers' 'Silambattam', stars Simbu and debutante Sana Khan in the lead roles. Cinematographer Saravanan directs this film which has Simbu in the role of a Hindu, Brahmin priest. Prabhu Ganesan plays the role of an inspector in 'Silambattam'.

The film has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and three songs of the film 'Nalamthana' – the remix of the evergreen classic song from the film 'Thillana Mohanambal', 'Thamizh', a typical hero-glorification song and 'Ennavo Pannala' a peppy number with mischief as the backdrop have been set to good music and are expected to become chart busters.

Currently, the climax scenes are being shot for the movie. The crew of 'Silambattam' has done something very new that they have come up with an audio trailer for the film for the first time, unlike in the rest of the movies which usually release the trailer with audio-visuals

Ilaiyaraja for Simbu

Simbu's Silambattam has raised the expectation levels of his fans by the star's decision to showcase three songs on popular websites. The latest news that is sure to have Simbu's fans in frenzy is that Ilaiyaraja is to lend his voice for Silambarasan. Singing along with Ilaiyaraja is Shreya Koshal. The song will be picturised on Simbu and Sneha. Sources close to the team say that the melodious song konduputta konduputta… has come out very well and is sure to top the charts.

Yuvan Shankar Raja busy Schedule

Music sensation Yuvan Shankar Raja is one of the busy music directors who is simultaneously working in over half-a-dozen films.

However in spite of his busy schedule, Yuvan Shankar Raja has managed to squeez time in order to sing a number for the Silambarasan starrer 'Poda Podi'. Young Dharan would be scoring music for the film.

Simbu and Yuvan Shankar Raja are known to share a great rapport. The two had teamed up to render musical hits in the films 'Manmadhan' and 'Vallavan' earlier.

'Poda Podi' will be shot extensively in Canada and introduces Varalaxmi, daughter of Sarath Kumar to tinsel town.  Debutant director Viswanath Siva is wielding the megaphone.

Silambattam Remix Song

Actor Simbu has a passion for playback singing. In spite of his busy schedule, the actor finds time to sing.

He had sung for several actors including Sarath Kumar, Ravikrishna, Shaam among others. The actor had recently sung for the movie Ennai Theriyuma. The movie has music by debutant Achu and it features Manoj, son of popular Telugu film personality Mohan Babu in the lead role.

Says Simbu,"Manoj is my childhood friend. When he and his father made a request to me to sing a song in their movie, I cannot deny".

Simbu's next 'Silambattam' features a song 'Vachikava Unna Mattum Nenjikulla' from the yesteryear superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Nallavanukku Nallavan'. The actor himself lends his voice for the remix version of the song.

Yuvan Sankar Raja Audio Launch on Aegan and Silambattam

Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to have back-to-back audio launches. It is a rare feat for a music director to have audio launches of two of his films, one after another.

On September 30, the audio of Simbu's Silambattam, which has music by Yuvan is scheduled.

Simbu and Yuvan have always rocked together from Manmathan to Vallavan. So a lot is riding on Silambattam's music.

Next day on October 1, is the audio launch of Ajith's Aegan. Who can forget the peppy songs of the deadly combo in Dheena and Billa ?

Recently Ajith had told Raju Sundaram, the director of the film that he is very happy with the music of Aegan.

Silambattam Audio release on Sep30

Silambattam, the upcoming film with Simbu in the lead role will witness its audio release on the 30th of September. This film is directed by Saravanan and produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers. Simbu will have two Sneha as his arm candies, one is the debutant Sneha Ullal who is said to be a look alike of Aishwarya Rai and the other is the smiling siren Sneha.
Music for Silambattam is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While talking about the audio of the film Simbu says, "My combination with Yuvan has always rocked starting from Manmadan to Vallavan. I expect the same magic to be woven this time also and I am sure the audio of Silambattam will be liked by one and all and will be a great hit." Another interesting trivia about this film is that Simbu has penned a song and rendered his voice also. Wishing Silambattam a great success.

Simbu - Press Meet

Vijaya T. Rajendar convened a press meet at the Four Frames Theatre to clear the air over the car theft and an accident that claimed a life and seriously injured another. The incident occurred on September 10th. Detailing about what happened on the fateful day T.R. said that his younger son Kuralasaran had gone to dine in a hotel situated on Mount Road at about 10 pm. He refuted all allegations that Simbu was present with his brother on the fateful day. T.R. substantiated this by stating the Simbu was in Sri Lanka from September 3rd to 14th. When Kuralarasan decided to get back home at 10:30 pm he found that his car along with the driver was missing. He immediately called his mother to inform about the car theft. Later, T. Rajendar filed a complaint at the Thousand Lights police station. However, it turned out that the missing car was involved in an accident near Uthiramerur. T.R. said that the car was driven by their driver Vasanth at the time of the accident. One person died on the spot and the other is critically injured.. "I am initiating legal action against the sections of media involved in spreading unwarranted rumors on this incident," he added.

“I am being targeted”: Simbu

Simbu has denied media reports about the incident, that he called up cops and reported that his car was stolen by his driver.

According to the article, in early hours of Wednesday, Simbu had called up the police control room from Speed, a night club at Grand Orient Hotel, Chennai reporting that his driver had stolen his car!

As per media reports, Simbu and his younger brother Kuralarasan had dropped in at the night club and asked the driver to wait, but later when the driver called up their mother Usha Rajendran, she instructed him to come back.

The media reports also stated that she wanted to teach her sons (brats who were unmanageable!) a lesson for their late coming.

"How can they fabricate such a story when I am away in Sri Lanka shooting with Sneha and my Silambattam unit for two songs? I left Chennai on September 3 and was back yesterday morning (Sunday Sep 14) to hear this horrifying report. This is not the first time that a section of media has been targeting me".

Simbu tells us that his brother had gone for a party with friends and when he came back the car and driver were missing in the parking lot of the hotel. He called up his mom who made a police complaint.

‘I want to act with Simbu’: Sneha Ullal

Sneha Ullal is the latest from Bollywood to try her luck in Tamil. She plays opposite Manoj Kumar, son of Mohan Babu for a movie titled 'Ennai Theriyuma'.

Having made a mark for herself acting opposite Salman khan in 'Lucky', she is foraying down south with 'Ennai Theriyuma'. She says, ' I want to do good movies and leave my mark here'.

Asked about her favorites in Tamil cinema, she says, "I want to act with Silambarasan. He is one actor I know well here".

Meanwhile Ilayaraja's evergreen hit number "Thanni Karuthirukku" has been remixed for 'Ennai Theriyuma'.

Says Manoj Kumar, "When we approached Ilayaraja seeking his permission to remix the song, he gleefully agreed. He is good friend of my father".

Yuvan Sankar Raja the singer!!!!

As reported already, Yuvan Shankar Raja has lent his voice for a song that has been set to tunes by Dharan of 'Sivi' fame. Dharan had been expressing his interest to make a song with Yuvan's voice for a long time and the consent has come as a big boon for young Dharan. The song features in the film 'Puthiya Vaarpugal' to be directed by K. Bhagyaraj and stars his son Santhanoo.

Latest reports indicate that Yuvan will be singing for another song set to tunes by Dharan for the film 'Poda Podi' which will star Simbu and Varalaxmi, daughter of actor-politician Sarath Kumar.

By the looks of it Dharan is so enamored by Yuvan's voice that he probably is making him a full time singer.

Simbu hair cut Expenses

Just like that there is buzz going round that Simbu got a hair cut that cost Rs.75, 000 for the movie Poda Podi.
The photoshoot of Simbu-Varalakshmi's next film titled Poda Podi was done in Mumbai by Dabboo Ratnani, the famous still photographer who rarely does films in Tamil.
The puja of Poda Podi will be held in September in Chennai. Simbu is trying to avoid the camera these days, even as he tries to hide this new hairstyle by wearing a cap.

Silambattam's audio launch?

The audio launch of Silambattam has been postponed at the behest of its hero Simbu. It is now said that the official audio release will be held only after October 4th. The reason cited for this delay is that Simbu is keen that the songs turn out to be chartbusters and has asked music director Yuvan Shankar Raja to work on remixing the Vechukava Unna Mattum Nenjukulla song.
Simbu has sung this song along with RJ Suchi. It is believed that the song will top the charts just as Suchi-Simbu combination Yen Aasai Mythiliye and Yemmadi Aathaadi proved to be. Silambattam will also have another remix Nalam Thaana making it the first film to have two remixes.

The other tracks in the film are Thamil endra naan, Konnuputta, and Nalam Thana.

Diwali release

Diwali 2008, traditionally the second biggest festival in Tamilnadu is round the corner (October 27). As usual, Kollywood producers, distributors are just waking up to the season, and the line-up is still not clear.

As of now, no theatre has any confirmed booking for Diwali films. Some producers and distributors have asked them to block the dates, further to negotiations. Seven films are looking at a Diwali release, depending on MG amount and theatre dates.

The producers, who are now talking of a Diwali release, need not release it for the festival. It depends on a lot of factors and as all of them are yet to release their audio. The list may change at the last minute as some may opt out while others may come in.

The tentative list is as follows.

Simbu remixes in Rajini film

It sure is the decade of remixes in Kollywood. Scores of yesteryear popular chartbusters are being remixed these days. Joining the long list is 'Vachukava Unnai Mattum' a very popular song from Rajinikanth's hit film 'Nallavanukku Nallavan'.

Music composer Dhina has remixed the song for Silambarasan's 'Silambattam'. Moreover, the actor has crooned the song himself. This being a peppy number, it was shot featuring a large number of dancers recently.

'Silambattam' is fast nearing completion and would hit the screens very soon. Meanwhile, after completing 'Silambattam', Simbu will start shooting for 'Poda Podi', which is to be shot extensively in Canada. Sarath Kumar's daughter Varalaxmi plays his heroine.

All photo stills of his future projects will be shot by Mumbai based Dabboo Ratnani, who is considered as the most perfect and expensive photographer in India.

Simbu is now staying with Varalakshmi, daughter of Sarath in Mumbai for the photo session for his movie Poda Podi to be produced by Gemini Films and directed by Vignesh Siva.

Simbu sings for Ennai Theriyuma

The actor has sung the remix version of 'Thanni Karuthudichu' for 'Ennai Theriyuma', whose audio launch is on Sunday. Superstar Rajinikanth has been invited to be the chief guest. But will the actor perturbed by Kuselan's problems, make an appearance is anybody's guess. 'Thanni Karuthudichu', a popular song from 'Ilamai Oonjalaadhugiradhu', has been remixed and rendered in both Tamil and Telugu for 'Ennai Theriyuma', which launches Mohan Babu's son Manoj as the hero.

Sneha Ullai and Riya Sen play the heroines of this movie, which has music by Achu. Achu, actually Arun, is the son of popular Malayalam music director C Rajamani.

The music of this movie is said to be a fusion of carnatic and hip hop. This film was made in Telugu as 'Nenu Meeku Telusa', directed by Ajay Sastri. In the movie, Manoj is said to play the role of an amnesia patient. With Mohan Babu being a bosom friend of Rajinikanth, it is expected that the Superstar will make it to the audio launch function on Sunday.

But sources close to the Superstar reveal that he is perturbed by the entire controversy shrouding 'Kuselan', and may not appear in public to launch the audio.
